Gordy90210

I periodically google myself including my various screen names like "Gordy90210". There's two others now out in the cyber world.. one in the UK and one other faker.. Im the ORIGINAL GORDY90210 since '98.

These other wannabe's are not me. I have no beef with them , caz I have nothing but love for fellow Gordys but the moment they try to A) steal my online identity and/or B)accuse me of stealing their name .. the gloves are off!

Book Review: Million Little Pieces by James Frey

So I've neglected my reading in the last 7-8 years so I figure I should get my brain back into reading mode. Last week I borrowed a book " A Million Little Pieces" by James Frey. Yes the infamous James Frey but fortunately I forgot who he was so I read this book with an unbiased and open mind. When I finished reading the book , it was Incredible emotional rollercoaster ride that you really latch yourself onto from the opening page.

The story is written as a memoir of the author when he was 23 yrs old and entering a rehab clinic in Minnesota. It opens with him on a airplane , destroyed physically and mentally on route to this clinic and the reader is hooked. You go through every thought and struggle James experiences and before you know it , its as if its the memoirs of the reader.

Now , when I finished this book there were moments when I actually teared up and moments when I reemed with excitement , by the end I was in such a surreal state of mind. Then I looked up James Frey to see an update now and maybe see pics of the characters... then the whole James Frey "controversy" story came back to me. James Frey was accused of fraud and exaggerating his story and confronted by Oprah herself. It all came back to me but I wasnt as upset as Oprah was when I discovered certain parts were fabricated or made up. I took it for what it was worth , i looked back and I sought through the questionable tales and endured the truthful journals.

In the end , i was disappointed that this was more a based on a true story rather than a memoir YET it contained enough truth to it that its close enough. As George Stroumboulopoulos said "everybody bullshits in their memoirs".. very true. I recommend this book , especially now that the hype is dead and the controversy has been put to rest.. its still a great read and an outstanding journey of a man rediscovering himself and the world he lives in.

Dark KNight Review

2 months later my review ..... but I didnt want to get caught up in the hype and give a bad review. I watched again today to see if I still think this is the best movie of the decade .....

I think it is. What this movie is what Empire Strikes Back was to the Star Wars franchise... the Dark Knight is to Batman and comic book movies overall. The story is fast paced and intriguing enough to keep you on the edge of your seat and yet not too complicated to bore you.. there's a reason this movie will make 1 BILLION dollars world wide.

This movie depicts Batman to its truest form ..... I would even say its so damn good it adds to the Batman lore of the comics. Its *that* good.

Performances:
Maggie Gylenhal is a way better Rachel Dawes than Katie Holmes , she has that Kristen Dunst , realistic look to her. I still think the character seems a little immature to be the top DA in Gothem but thats knick picking.

Christian Bale is easily the best Bruce wayne w/o getting sentimental with Adam West. They didnt go middle aged guy or proven star.. Christian Bale when casted was a no name. He owes his career to Batman like Harrison Ford owes his to Star Wars.

Heath Ledger.... absolutely brilliant. The. Best. Villian. Ever. Easily best villian for comic book movie ... maybe a contender for movie villian ever. Truly is worthy of Oscar nomination.. my favourite scenes were anything with the Joker... enthralling. I cant say enough about Ledgers farewell perfomance.. he out does Nicholson and its not an impression. He gives the Joker a new life that I wasnt expecting. The expectations to play the most profilic comic book villian in comic book history is extremely high and Ledger met them.. and superseded them. Loved every single scene he was in.

Aaron Eckart. Fits nicely into the movie. Cant say anything bad about his performance as Harvey dent/Two Face but cant say he stole any scenes either. Cant have too many chefs in the kitchen so its not a bad thing he didnt steal any scenes. This movie was all about the Joker.

Result:

This in my opinion has overtaken Spider-Man 2 as the best Superhero movie of all time( notice both are sequels). Its abosultely brilliant. The cinetography , the action sequences , characters , story , performances.. its beautiful. Batman has entered my exclusive realm of geek worthy movie fandom. Meaning I will buy the DVD and watch this movie 50+ ties in my life to memorize every intriquette detail.

as of Sept 2008 , The Dark Knight is my pick as 'MOvie of the Decade'.

China.... why?

With the Olympic s less than two weeks away , China sucks in eco management. They wont change their industrial blue print despite the obvious clear damage its doing to the enviroment and living beings.

Now , China is also banning dogmeat on resteraunt menus during the Plymnpics. I say FUCK THIS. Im not saying I eat dog meat but dont sell your culture short caz snobby white people might think your savages... fuck whitie and their goddamn self righteous ignorant ways. Who made them god? god? fuck that.

Sorry white people , some parts of the world people eat whatever is local.. that includes dogs. You dont like? who gives a fuck. White pople put dead animal oils on their face like clowns and call it "make up" .. you look like alien whores.

Fuck you if you think you're above eating insects , all mammals and thinknig people who do are lesser than you. You fucking moron... your probably the same fucking moron who thinks God and his god like penis is planning everything for you hence why you're blessed and we're not. Right? you think every thing happens caz its in Jesus' plans.. right? fucking moron. Yeah Im sure the 5 yr old prostitutes who get raped and killed that nobody knows about is all part of the bigger plan... right? FUcking morons.

Fuck you white people aka anybody who acts like a white person so Im talking to you too you fucking banana bread sellouts. Im sick of you invading the world and trying to stick your fucking religion and culture down the world's throats. So you what .. Dogmeat is on the menu... "EWWWWW".. yeah , you eat chemicals and artifical garbage wrapped in fancy wrappers that make you fat , obese and mental... yeah.. EWWW natural dogs but leats eat licerice. Fucking morons.

Indiana Jones 4 Review

Kingdom of the Crystal Skull *Non Spoiler* review - by Gordy Locke

Score: 8.5/10

Indiana Jones is still Indiana Jones. Dont expect anything more or less from the 4th edition to the series. Lots of fast paced action , adventure and pure entertainment for the Indy fans.

They didnt fill the movie completely with reference jokes to the triology but there's enough to please the diehards and enough new material to declare itself a stand alone edition and addition to the series.

It will not disappoint new fans nor old though old fans may be more chatty and critical of plot/storylines.

Performances:

Kate Blanchett : 9/10... I would say she's probably the best female co-lead since her co star Karen Allen. She was a decent villianess , good on screen presence and very appealing.

Shia Labeouf: 7.5/10 ... I was very nervous about this role and casting. Speilberg played it by the book , worked him in slowly and built up some likeable empathy for him. By the end , Indy represented the fans , when he accepted Labeouf the series accepted him. Still a little nerouv that he can actually carry this series.

Karen Allen : 7/10... the return of INdy's true love. She was comical and still fit the character. She was really a older version of her old self.

Ray Whinstone : 6.5/10 He played Indy's new partner in crime... a little cliched and predictable but thats what the series is. Its really for young audiences so you want campy cliched characters. With that being said , I fault him points for playing it safe...nothing special or rememberable about Mac.

John Hurt: 8/10 ... he's a hall of fame actor but the character could've been played by anyone. I would've liked to seen John Hurt play Mac and bring him to life.

Harrison Ford: 10/10... its Indiana Friggen Jones. Nuff said.
